Bichectomy

What is a bichectomy (aesthetic of the cheeks)?

The process of permanent shaping of the cheek and its surroundings is called bichectomy (cheek aesthetics).  The face is the first thing you notice when you meet a person.  Cheeks, lips, eyes, hair, nose, forehead, teeth are all parts of our face and affect the beauty of the whole face .

The bichectomy is in fact an aesthetic of thinning of the cheeks.  It aims to give the face a triangular appearance by shaping the chin area and slimming the cheeks.  In recent years, it has gained popularity due to the fact that it is strongly preferred by the big names in the art and film world.  Bichectomy, also known as Hollywood aesthetic, has a severe effect on the overall appearance of the face.

How and with what method is the bichectomy performed?

The beauty criteria of the face of people are linked to the proportional distribution of organs and the percentage of existing tissues.  With the bichectomy operation, the excess fat on the cheek is removed.  Small incisions are made on the inner part of the cheek, and excess fat is removed from these incisions.  Thus, the face and the other parts become proportional to each other.

Air spaces in the cheek aid in the balance and resonance of the sound heard.  The sebaceous glands that fill these air spaces cause problems with balance and sound renewal, while causing swollen cheeks.  These sebaceous glands are removed through very small incisions with bichectomy surgery.

 Is the bichectomy operation painful?

Cosmetic cheek surgeries last 25 to 30 minutes under local anesthesia or general anesthesia, depending on the person's preferences and general health.  The experience of the surgeon performing the operation in this area and the number of operations are very important.  Thanks to very small surgical incisions, no pain or severe pain is felt after this operation.  These small incisions close on their own and do not require stitches.  The edema that occurs after the operation begins to decrease after 3 days and completely disappears after 7 days,

Healing process after bichectomy (cheek aesthetics)

After the cosmetic operation of the cheeks, the face and cheeks acquire the desired appearance after 2-3 months on average.  After 2-3 months on average, the face becomes completely triangular with a slight sagging of the cheeks inward.  Life can resume 3 days after the operation.

At what age should the bichectomy be performed?

It is not recommended to have a cheek aesthetic before the age of 18.  You have to wait until the age of 20 to adapt perfectly to the features of the face.
